Swatchmas Day 19: Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paints

On the nineteenth day of Swatchmas, I give you all nine Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colors from Fenty Beauty by Rihanna! These are absolutely phenomenal liquid lipsticks, having insane amounts of pigment and a very liquidy, thin (in a good way) formula that’s easy to apply, dries down quite matte, and is comfortable to wear all day long. One of these colors (Underdawg) was a mini that was limited for the holidays this year, but I’m hoping it makes a comeback because it’s one of my favorites!

Fenty’s Stunna Liquid Lip Paints each contain 4 ml / 0.13 oz of product and sell for $24, except for Underdawg, which contains 2 ml / 0.07 oz of product and sells (or sold) for $15. Unfortunately, it looks like Underdawg is currently sold out online from both Fenty and Sephora. Also, Uninvited seems to be for sale on the Fenty website, but not on Sephora’s website. However, all seven colors except for Uninvited are in stock on www.sephora.com and all eight permanent colors are in stock on www.fentybeauty.com. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a cruelty-free brand.

The Stunna Lip Paints featured in this post are:

Swatchmas Day 11: My Top 5 Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipsticks

On the eleventh day of Swatchmas, I give you my five favorite Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipsticks from Fenty Beauty by Rihanna! This formula is so creamy so it doesn’t dry out the lips, which is great, especially this time of year if you live in a colder, drier climate. They’re all very highly pigmented, comfortable and easy to apply and wear, and they have a soft, natural matte finish. As you can see from the photo below, some of these look almost new, but it’s because I’ve repurchased them or these are the backup lipsticks that I typically keep in my bag.

All of these lipsticks are permanent colors and are available directly from the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna website, or from Sephora’s website, Sephora stores, or Sephora inside JCPenney. Each one sells for $18 and contains 1.7 g / 0.06 oz of product. Fenty Beauty is a cruelty-free brand.

The Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipsticks featured in this post are:

  • Spanked:   Dusty rose
  • Griselda:   Bold burgundy
  • Ma’Damn:   Royal red
  • Flamingo Acid:   Bright berry
  • Candy Venom:   Electric pink

Swatchmas Day 3: My Top 5 Go-To Neutral Lipsticks

On the third day of Swatchmas, I give you my five favorite neutral lipsticks that I use all the time! All of these are permanent products and are different formulas from different brands, but I feel like just about everyone, no matter their age or skintone, could pull these off, so maybe you guys will fall in love with them too!

My top 5 go-to neutral lipsticks are:

  • 1)   Brave Lipstick from MAC Cosmetics:

This lipstick is a creamy, easy to apply formula with a Satin finish and is described as a pink-beige with white pearl. It contains 3 g / 0.1 oz of product and sells for $18.50 from MAC’s website or any MAC freestanding store or counter (which can now be found in select Ulta stores).

  • 2)   Blushbaby Luxe Matte Liquid Lipstick from TIME Los Angeles:

Blushbaby is an absolutely gorgeous matte liquid lipstick with a very lightweight, comfortable, long wearing formula. It’s a mid-tone dusty mauve that’s flattering on so many people and with so many looks. It contains 6.3g / 0.22 fl. oz of product and sells for $16 from www.shoptimela.com. This liquid lipstick is vegan and TIME is a cruelty-free brand.

  • 3)   Pillow Talk Matte Revolution Lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury:

This luxurious lipstick is a nude pink with a creamy matte formula. It contains 3.5 g / 0.12 oz of product and sells for $34 from Sephora or the Charlotte Tilbury website. Charlotte Tilbury is a cruelty-free company.

  • 4)   Spanked Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick from Fenty Beauty:

Spanked is a very creamy, natural matte formula that is a beautiful shade of dusty rose. It contains 1.7 g / 0.06 oz of product and sells for $18 from both Sephora and the Fenty Beauty website. Fenty Beauty is a cruelty-free brand.

  • 5)   Honeylove Lipstick from MAC Cosmetics:

Honeylove is described as a light beige tone with rose, and is one of MAC’s best selling matte lipsticks. Like Brave, it contains 3 g / 0.1 oz of product and sells for $18.50 from any MAC store, counter, or from www.maccosmetics.com or www.ulta.com.

Swatchmas Day 1: Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Mini Gloss Bomb Collection

It’s that time again! Since everyone loved Swatchmas last year, I figured this would be a great way to get back into blogging and making regular posts. This year, I’ll only be posting lip and eye products, since that’s what got the best feedback, so I hope you all are cool with that!

To start things off, I wanted to post one of my favorite holiday sets that’s come out this year… Fenty Beauty’s Glossy Posse Mini Gloss Bomb Set. It sells for $42 from both Sephora and www.fentybeauty.com, and features five mini Gloss Bombs, each containing 5.5 ml/g / 0.35 oz of product (compared to the full size gloss bombs, which contain 9 ml/g / 0.3 oz of product and sell for $18 each). Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a cruelty-free brand and these are very moisturizing, comfortable glosses, so they’re one of my favorite formulas.

The colors included in this gift set are:

  • Confetti:   Shimmering iridescent opal
  • Fu$$y:   Shimmering dusty pink   (permanent)
  • Pretty Please:   Shimmering fuchsia
  • Cheeky:   Shimmering bright red-orange
  • Hot Chocolit:   Shimmering rich brown

Swatchmas Day 24: Fenty Beauty Gloss Bombs

On the twenty-fourth and last day of Swatchmas, I give you all three Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizers from Fenty Beauty by Rihanna! These are great if you just want to pop on some gloss with a hint of color and plenty of shimmer. They’re also beautiful when layered over any lipstick or lip pencil. I love this gloss formula because it’s not sticky at all and it contains shea butter so it’s very nourishing, which is great, especially during the winter.

If you’d like to pick these up, you can head to your local Sephora, Sephora inside JCPenney, or www.sephora.com. Gloss Bombs are also available directly from Fenty Beauty at www.fentybeauty.com.  Each lip gloss sells for $18 and contains 9 ml / 0.3 oz of product. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a cruelty free brand.

If you’re interested in keeping up with what I’m posting, reviewing, and loving, be sure to follow me on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. You can find me @ lesley_makeup on all three platforms and I love hearing from you guys!

Fenty Beauty: Uncuffed Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color

I think I’ve found one of my new favorite lippies for fall! The Stunna Lip Paints are by far one of the best liquid lipsticks out there and I feel like Uncuffed, along with the other four colors, would be flattering on just about everyone and can be used with so many different looks.

I’ll get into more details about this formula and particular color later on in the post.

To see what I’m testing, reviewing, and loving, make sure you follow me on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat! You can find me @lesley_makeup on all three platforms and I love to hear from my readers!

Also, if you’ve tried this product, let me know in the comments how you like it!

SONY DSC

To get straight to the basics and keep this post short and sweet, you can pick this up from Sephora stores, Sephora inside JCPenney, and Sephora’s website. You can also order this online from the Fenty Beauty website. Uncuffed and other Stunna Lip Paints sell for $24 and contain 0.13 oz / 4 ml of product. This is a pretty average price for a liquid lipstick containing that amount of product, but Fenty’s formula is unique and very high quality, so to me, these are worth the money.

Fenty Beauty is a cruelty-free company and does not allow any of their suppliers or affiliates to test on animals on their behalf. While I’m not sure if this particular product is vegan or not, I know that some of their products are! From what I’m reading on the ingredients list printed on the box, Uncuffed appears to be vegan, but I’m no chemist so don’t quote me on that.

SONY DSC

Fenty’s Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colors don’t just look unique on the outside… The formula is outstanding and different from any other liquid lipstick I’ve tried. It’s definitely a very fluid-like consistency. To me, when I think of a liquid lipstick, I think of something heavier or thicker and maybe more whipped in texture, but when I see the word “fluid”, I think of something much more weightless, which is what Stunna Lip Paints are.

According to both the Fenty Beauty and Sephora websites, the claims for these lipsticks are as follows:

  • Weightless
  • 12 hour wear time
  • Soft matte finish

As I mentioned, these really do have a weightless, very comfortable formula that’s easy to apply and doesn’t feel drying or heavy on the lips. It’s very thin and fluid-like when applied and takes a moment to dry down to a beautiful, natural, soft matte finish. It doesn’t seem to bleed or feather, even without using a lip liner, which I love about the Stunna Lip Paints! It’s not totally smudge or transfer-proof but it is transfer-resistant. For being such a thin formula, it’s insanely pigmented and I’m pretty sure that no one will ever have to double dip with the wand to get enough product and coverage! A little bit goes a very long way and the one of a kind, tapered applicator makes it easy to get an even, precise application.

While I can’t verify the 12 hour wear time claim since I never even have lipstick on that long, Uncuffed definitely stayed on for a good while without coming off or separating during meals, except for in the center of the lip, which is typical. One last thing I really like about this formula is that it wears well but doesn’t cling to mildly dry spots or settle into and emphasize the lines in my lips, which so many other liquid lipstick formulas do.

There are only 5 shades right now, but I feel like there will be more in the future! Rihanna, who is very hands-on with her brand and hand picked each shade of Stunna Lip Paint, seems to put a lot of effort and thought into Fenty Beauty’s products, so I understand why there’s not a huge range of these just yet. Perfection takes time, but it’s worth the wait and I SO appreciate a brand that’s more focused on quality over quantity!

The packaging is cute, classy, and a little edgy, which is exactly what I would except from Rihanna’s brand. It lists features of the product on the side, and ingredients and the expiry period (12 months) on the back. Both the packaging and component itself are recyclable.

Uncuffed:   This liquid lipstick is described as a “rosy mauve” and has a natural, soft matte finish. It’s a medium to medium dark (if you’re as fair as I am), mostly neutral but very slightly warm toned truly rosy mauve that I can see being flattering on everyone, no matter what your age or skin tone may be. It may pull a bit lighter on darker on different people, but I like it when lipsticks do that because it makes it feel like it was made just for you!

The texture of Uncuffed is very thin and almost watery, but not runny. It’s lightweight and comfortable, and as you can see in the photos above, it doesn’t make the dry, chapped spot on the lower right area of my bottom lip very apparent like most liquid lipsticks would do. It’s easy to apply and dries down pretty quickly, but not so fast that you don’t have time to blend it out or blend it with a liner or another color of lipstick if you want to. Color payoff is great and looks nearly the same on the lips as it does in the bottle, but will sort of change depending on your skin tone… On me, it darkens quite a bit but I’m incredibly fair this time of year. Opacity is full and the coverage is amazing with only one dip into the tube/bottle. Wear time for me was a full 8 hours with the only fading happening in the center of the lip, or a little on both the center of my lip and part of my upper lip if I drank something oily, like my coffee with MCT oil. Food, water and non-oily beverages don’t seem to have any affect on this lipstick, though.

Fenty Beauty: Spanked Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick

Oh hey! I want to start making more posts more often, so we’re going to start off with one of the lipsticks I find myself reaching for pretty often these days. You all know the drill and I’m *trying* to make my reviews more short and sweet without being a complete slacker, so let’s get right to it.

Btw, if you want to know what I’m reviewing, testing, and loving, make sure you follow me on Twitter and Instagram… You can find me @lesley_makeup on pretty much all social media, including Snapchat. I love getting feedback from my readers and followers, and seeing the looks you all create using the products I review, so make sure you tag me on IG with #lesley_makeup if you use something I’ve posted on here!

You can purchase Fenty Beauty by Rihanna from the Fenty Beauty website, or from Sephora. They sell this brand at the freestanding Sephora stores, at Sephora in JCPenney, and online on the Sephora website. The Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipsticks sell for $18 and contain 1.7 g / 0.06 oz of product. Compared to something like the Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipsticks, which cost $22-$34 depending on whether it’s a refill or full size, and only contain 0.9 g / 0.03 oz of product, you’re getting more for your money with the Fenty Mattemoiselle. I’m honestly not sure what the formula is like for those, and I believe they have a Satin finish for the most part, but the shape and design is similar, so that is what I’m basing my comparison on. Now if you compare this to a regular bullet lipstick from just about any brand, you’re going to get more product for your money with the bullet lipstick. If you guys know of anything else comparable to the Fenty Mattemoiselle formula and design that’s a better deal, please let me know in the comment section!

There are twelve other colors available in the Fenty Mattemoiselle lineup, ranging from bolds and brights to more subdued nudes, so there’s a little something for everyone. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a cruelty-free company, and on their website, it even says “We never test products or ingredients on animals, nor do we allow suppliers or affiliates to conduct testing on our behalf”, which is awesome!

SONY DSC

This formula is one of my new favorites as far as matte or soft matte lipsticks go. I feel like some of the other shades of Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick do dry down a little more than this one does, but Spanked is still very pretty. To me, it’s more of a natural matte type of finish and has an extremely creamy texture. It starts off with a satiny sheen, but over time, it becomes more matte. I’m not complaining, though. It was very comfortable to wear and didn’t dry my lips out at all, but didn’t have the wear time that some other matte lipsticks do… I’ll describe this more in the brief rundown on this product, so keep reading!

The plastic component for these is a nude color on the inner part with a very classy, mirrored rose gold exterior. Unfortunately, the plastic exterior of this product shows EVERY little fingerprint or smudge on it, which you can see in the photos. While it’s pretty to look at, I’m super OCD and hate it when something looks dirty, so I’m taking a few points off for that. The packaging for these is consistent with other Fenty Beauty boxes or unicarton or whatever you want to call it and has their signature, awesomely grungy, black and white design.

Spanked:   Fenty describes this as a “dusty rose”, which is very accurate! Spanked is a medium, rich dusty rose with slightly warm undertones. Like pretty much all of the other Mattemoiselle lipsticks, this color is flattering for all skin tones… Anyone of any age could wear Spanked for any occasion! For me, this is the perfect every day lipstick that I can wear whether I’m all dolled up with a smokey eye, or just running errands in my sweats and rocking a natural-but-better type of makeup.

The texture of this lipstick is ahhhhhhhmazing!! It’s super creamy so it glides right onto the lips and applies so easily. The shape of the lipstick itself is also helpful with getting a precise application, since it’s small, angled, and fits perfectly into the area of the cupids bow. It takes a little while to dry down to a more matte finish, but I feel like that’s what makes this formula non-drying and comfortable to wear and reapply throughout the day. The color payoff is great, so Spanked looks the same on the lips as it does in the tube. Coverage is also fantastic and fully opaque with just a swipe or two of product. Wear time is pretty average and on par with other regular matte or satin lipsticks. For me, this wears well for about 4 hours before I notice any fading in the center of my lips, however, it will fade faster if you eat or drink something. On the rest of the lip, I usually get 5-6 hours of wear before I have to touch up, and I never have any issues with bleeding or feathering around the edge of my lip until about hour 5. With a liner, I don’t notice any fading until well into hour 6, and if I layer this OVER a liner, Spanked usually stays in place all over the lip for a solid 6-7 hours before a touchup is required.

Liners:

  • MAC Soar Lip Pencil (pretty much the exact same color but slightly more cool toned)
  • MAC Whirl Lip Pencil (cooler with more plum undertones)
  • MAC Spice Lip Pencil (much warmer and more neutral/brown)
  • MAC Boldly Bare Lip Pencil (lighter, warmer, and more neutral/peachy brown. This liner will give you very soft definition)
  • MAC Plum Lip Pencil (darker and much more cool toned. This is a great liner if you want more contrast or have a deeper skin tone)
  • MAC Chestnut Lip Pencil (much darker and more cool toned and neutral/brown, but another good liner for more contrast and also for deeper skin tones).
  • Melt Cosmetics Hex Lip Pencil (darker, more cool toned/plummy)
  • Melt Cosmetics Love Note Lip Pencil (very, very slightly lighter but nearly a perfect match)
  • NYX Whipped Caviar Suede Matte Lip Pencil (more cool toned)
  • NYX Soft-Spoken Suede Matte Lip Pencil (more warm toned and more brown/neutral).

Dupes:   I’m only comparing bullet lipsticks to Spanked, rather than liquid lipsticks, since the formulas and finishes would be waaaay different, but here are a few that are similar!

  • MAC Kinda Sexy Matte Lipstick (lighter, more yellow-based pink)
  • MAC Velvet Teddy Matte Lipstick (much lighter, warmer, and more nude)
  • MAC Twig Satin Lipstick(more cool toned, but similar)
  • MAC Brave Satin Lipstick (lighter, more warm toned, and more yellow-based pink)
  • Colourpop x Shayla C’Mon Sis Crème Lux Lipstick (slightly darker but very similar)
